Since the Ontario government raised minimum wage to $14.00, select Tim Horton's franchises appear to be frustrated, and they seem to be taking their frustration out on their employees.  Some of us have even suggested that select Tim's franchises are bullying their employees.  Others are outraged at any suggestion that their all Canadian institution could be accused of being a bully.  There are a number of reasons that many think Tim's are bullies. The minimum wage increase applies to all employees in the province of Ontario, not just Tim Horton's.  That means that all employers would be affected.  We have heard from some small businesses, particularly family farms, or employers employing less than 10 workers.  Select Tim's franchises are the only big corporation that are complaining about the increase.  \Plus, we know that government never does anything overnight.   Select Tim's franchises had time to prepare for this, the same as other ...

Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.  That is the famous phrase in the United States Declaration of Independence.  These three things are considered unalienable rights given to all human beings by their creator and which governments are created to protect.  Happiness.  Common sense says that we all want it, but do we really?  The blue print for the pursuit of happiness is simple.  Accumulate moments of positive emotion.  Don't wait for these moments to seek you.  You can seek and create these moments of positive emotion yourself.  Common sense, but not common practice.  It makes me think we really don't want to be happy. I can't believe what I just heard happen in Winnipeg.  A man, age undisclosed at this point, met a woman online and decided it was time for a meet.  He went to her home to pick her up and there he was attacked by three people.   Not only was he severely beaten, but he was stabbed multiple times. This was streamed live on facebook.  Someone watching the live feed called the police.  The police attended immediately and the victim was taken to hospital in critical condition.  He since has been upgraded to stable.   The attackers face multiple charges.  This gang of three includes a 44 year old female; a 19 year old female; and an 18 year old male.  We call all read through these lines.  This is such an extreme tragedy.
