Canadians are Tingling with Excitement

President Trump had a news conference today calling the Free Trade Agreement with Canada a disaster.  He referred to Canada as being as detrimental to the US economy as Mexico.  He referred to Canada as a disgrace when it comes to the US economy.   I don't know about you, but I felt nothing but pride.  We are a threat to the US economy !!! For decades, we have struggled with trying to get the US to take our seriously and now we are a threat. And we are synonymous with Mexico.   Considering there is no such thing as bad press, we should feel intensely proud.  The sad thing is no one is going to believe it because it is just not true.   We are not the type of people who have the capacity to intentionally inflict harm.  We are not protectionists, we are survivalists.  We struggle to maintain our economy so we don't actually have the time to interfere in other's economy.   We are just not "bad boys" by nature.  The USA choose...

Start of WW3?

I really am sick of blogging about President Trump.  I really don't want to give this man any energy, but, unfortunately, I think it is going to be a long 4 years. So, Trump sent limited air missile attacks to Syria targeted at the place where the chemical gas attacks originated.  This is very sad to think that diplomacy will never work in this situation, but, I'm even more saddened to think that this was the right choice.  I think the people of Syria have sufferred so much that they needed a sign, a show of strength from the world. that this has to stop. People are worried that this will cause WW3 because the Russians are supporting the existing Syrian regime.  I don't think we have to lose sleep yet.  The Russians issued a lukewarm condemnation of the US action. Even though I reluctantly think he did the right thing, everything about it still reeks of Trump's con artist approach to government. First of all, he said he was deeply affected by the picture...

Response to Syrian Attacks

The chemical attacks on Syria were horrific.  Unfortunately, this is the latest in a series of horrors this country has endured.  I can't even begin to imagine what life is like there.  There should have been an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council months ago. At times of unexplainable horror, we look to the "Leader of the Free World" to provide comfort and leadership.  Unfortunately, for the "free world", the leader is the President of the United States. For whatever you thought of President George W. Bush, he was a great comforter and leader in times of grief.  He had to address the nation many times trying to comfort and take action to heal. This horrific tragedy could have been the turning point in the "troubled" Presidency of Donald Trump.  I listened with an open mind.  He issued a 78 word statement.  Clearly, he has no concept of government and can only effectively operate in terms of a twitter feed.  72 people were kille...

Affordable Health Care Act

Wow. This morning President Trump bullied his fellow Republicans into voting to replace Obama Care. Trump said he was done negotiating and there was no plan B.  His message was clear. Take it or leave it.  Remarkable in that he had majorities in both Houses, passing legislation should be a breeze. A few hours later, vote post-phoned.  All we know at this moment, is that the Bill would not pass at this time.  The vote has been recalled, cancelled, post-phoned, withdrawn, whatever.  It is not happening today. Remarkable.  Health Care has been on of the biggest issues in US politics for decades.  Arrogant Trump thought he could solve this in a couple of weeks. What is next?   There is no Plan B according to Trump, but Sean Spicer is already indicating that he is not going to reveal what their strategy will be.  That means Trump is now working on a strategy and it will be announced once someone tells him what that is. Here is some free ...

Worst day ever for Trump Presidency

Yawn.   Yesterday was the worst day ever for Trump Presidency.  This follows the previous worst day ever for Trump Presidency which probably 3 days prior.  In this Presidency of just over 60 days, he has about 20 worst days ever so far. I guess in some respects this makes Trump to be a sociological genius.  He has been so bad that we aren't even alarmed anymore with his antics.  We have become immune. The FBI director indicated that there was no evidence to suggest Obama or anyone with a pulse were interested in bugging Trump, figuratively or literally.  This shocked approximately two people and they were the two people who actually believed that Trump would be within two feet of a microwave oven. I just feel sorry for Melissa McCarthy.  Did you watch Sean Spicer's news briefing yesterday.   There is no way that a parody can match the comedic value of the real thing. But, we were diatracted yesterday so we may have missed that Trump has re...

How could she possibly keep a straight face?

Did Kellyanne seriously accuse the previous administration of monitoring/bugging Trump through his microwave? What purpose would any one having in bugging Trump?   He is addicted to his own publicity.  If he actually had a secret, it would have been tweeted already. Did Spicer really identify the "smoking gun" in this comic farce as being tweets from Trump claiming that he had been bugged by Obama? How are these people keeping straight faces?

Really hope this is fake news

I just read an article that it costs American tax payers an extra 30,000,000 per month to pay for extra secret service and related costs from Melania's decision to live in Trump Tower with her son.  I really hope this is fake news. The alternative is that it is true and can you imagine what a positive difference that would make to underprivileged Americans. I guess this what you get when you elect a narcissist who really has little regard for people who dont share his surname.   Americans still have unbelievable power in democracy.  They can't change the election result but united there is lots they can do and they should be looking at options. Even if this is fake news, there is enough out there to be concerned about.

Golfing Trump

Long before he was even Candidate Trump, President Trump spent a great deal of time criticizing President Obama.  One of the many things that he criticized was the amount of time that President Obama golfed.   He was once said the professional golfers on the PGA tour spent less time on the greens than President Obama.  Persistent journalists have come up with no fewer than 11 tweets made by Trump criticizing Obama for what ended up being 300 rounds of golf played in office. That does sound like a lot and Trump likely had a good point that Obama may be have served the country better had he spent more time in the Oval Office and less time on the golf course. Now, that tables are turned.   It turns out that President Trump has golfed 6 times since assuming office six weeks ago.   The hypocrisy is being pointed out, as Trump is on a faster golfing time.  In addition, he is spending his weekends at his vacation home of Mar-a-lago which he is calling his Wint...
