Empty Spaces

Toastmasters is a wonderful organization.  I experienced a great deal of success in the program.  One of the things that was the best part of the program was the nuggets of wisdom that I was able to get out of ordinary moments.  I remember speech given by an artist.  The speech was about empty spaces in painting and how important they are.  She said that great artists often figure out where the empty spaces will go first and then design there painting around this.  The empty spaces are purposeful and definitely part of the work of art. 

I have been quiet lately.  Essentially, I have been focusing on the empty spaces in the my life and trying to decide how to fill my life around it.  I have received some bad news about my physical health.  I have been devoting my energy to moving forward but the seed in my mind is that my physical health needs all my attention at this time.  Once I figure out how these empty spaces are filled, I can add other things back into my tapestry that I call my life. 

My book will not be ready for 2020.  However, I am still determined to finish it.  I have talked to so many ExtraOrdinary Manitobans that have stories that need to be shared.  I now have a target of March 21, 2020. 

I am not clear if Blog or White will continue in this medium or another platform.  I tend to favor Twitter as my choice of social media right now.  I am just a few hundred views away from 140,000 so I think that might be a good place to end, however, on the other hand, there are so many things happening in my world that I still feel the need to comment upon.

    Take all the time you need to figure out how or when to fill your empty spaces! You were a great Toastmaster of the year and have added, I am sure, to e=Rey organization you have touched! Be well, Shelley. You are exactly where you are meant to be.

I felt compelled to attend an information meeting of the Bruce Oake Recovery Centre.  Compelled because it will be, not in my neighbourhood, but in my City Ward.  Compelled after reading Bruce's story and his family's wish to make this recovery centre his legacy.  Compelled because of the opposition to this centre.  I wanted my voice to be a positive one. There's Something from Jenny - Part 2

I am trying to evolve as a blogger.  One of my friends told me that I needed to start adding my pictures to my blog so that people would know who they are communicating with.  So, good, bad, or ugly, I am adding my picture as much as I can.  It makes me feel vulnerable.  Not as vulnerable as I would feel if I was running for Mayor of a major Canadian city. Seriously? Opposition to BORC opening at old Vimy Arena Site

I decided to go for a walk today.  It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon.  My quest was to understand the home owner's opposition to having the closed arena site being converted to a much needed addiction treatment facility.  I took some pictures on my phone and want to explain what I found out.  The first picture was taken while I was standing on the immense green space at the back of the old Vimy Arena.  You can see in the background what is the closest residential development.  It is a town house complex.  In order for someone who was participating in treatment at BORC to interact with someone living in the complex, they would have to walk and then cross a creek, and then get through the trees.  I would think the residents living in that complex would be more worried about the drainage pipe that leads on the creek.  I would be concerned about a wandering child being trapped in there.  The second pic...
