Golfing Trump
Long before he was even Candidate Trump, President Trump spent a great deal of time criticizing President Obama. One of the many things that he criticized was the amount of time that President Obama golfed. He was once said the professional golfers on the PGA tour spent less time on the greens than President Obama. Persistent journalists have come up with no fewer than 11 tweets made by Trump criticizing Obama for what ended up being 300 rounds of golf played in office.
That does sound like a lot and Trump likely had a good point that Obama may be have served the country better had he spent more time in the Oval Office and less time on the golf course.
Now, that tables are turned. It turns out that President Trump has golfed 6 times since assuming office six weeks ago. The hypocrisy is being pointed out, as Trump is on a faster golfing time. In addition, he is spending his weekends at his vacation home of Mar-a-lago which he is calling his Winter Whitehouse. Each trip costs the tax-payers an additional $3.3M for secret service and related costs.
Americans are outraged. This President declared, before being elected, that if you needed a vacation, you are in the wrong job. Now, he needs a time away every five days.
As a Canadian, I know that any action in the White House can have universal implications and impact my daily life. That is why I am strongly encouraging my neighbours to the south, to please give President Trump a pass on this one. Please don't give this story any more time nor energy. Please. Let President Trump golf every day if he wants to. I would rather he slice a ball on the green than wield a pen on an Executive Order.
