Big Bunny Is Watching

What are our political leaders doing over the weekend?  Today is a day of reflection.  When I was growing up, even though it was a holiday, it seemed eerily similar to what today will be.  We stayed home and had a very simple and frugal meal.  We didn't talk to others because it was a day of reflection on the sacrifices that were made on our behalf and to move forward with more of a sense of duty to live the best life we can.

I can imagine for our leaders that they have been reflecting a great deal so today will be mostly restorative sleep.  Perhaps the only politician who will be reflecting will be Andrew Scheer.  He will be trying to imagine what his life will look like after politics given that he has never had an actual job. Regardless, today will be quiet.

The government has been giving Canadians a great deal of aid. It hasn't been overtly stated, but, the tone is changing a little.  We are now being led it is up to it is not to count what Canada can do for you it is now what you can do for Canada.  It is now our part to maintain social distancing recommendations.

We all know that this will be a big family weekend.  He is risen.  We have been told that the Easter Bunny has been sanctioned as an essential service.  Our children need something to reward them for their service.

However, this weekend will also be the big test.  Essentially, after some initial rest, everyone will be watching. Our political leaders especially will be watching how we follow social distancing and staying at home as much as possible. Our leaders are looking for guidance as they try to decide what is best for our country and if it is necessary to further lock down our movements.  This weekend will be crucial in deciding what happens next.  They have even given us fair warning that people will be watching and handing out fines for violations.  They really don't want for there to be violations.

Be smart and continue to listen to the advice of public health and go home and stay home.

Big Bunny will be watching.
