Manitoba Matters

I realize why I haven't been too excited about the federal election.  Very little attention on Manitoba.  The reality is that we just don't have enough seats for the federal parties to care about.  It is up to us to change that.  We need to remind them that Canada's heart beats.  Most candidates are spouted off their federal platforms.

Robert-Falcon Oulette spent two nights camped in Central Park trying to better understand the concerns of people with housing insecurity.  That is a start.  Showing interest in understanding the needs of Manitobans.

There is a Conservative candidate who has a proven track record of selflessly making Manitoba better.  He has been fortunate in life and he has worked tirelessly to give back.  Yet, for some reason, he just spouts off Conservative policies in his campaign and doesn't high-light his own accomplishments for Manitobans.  It is a shame.  He is extremely talented.  There is something about Andrew Scheer.  I have been watching him closely.  If you look away and just listen to his answers, he says everything right.  Just listening to him, he makes so much sense, but, for some reason, when you look at him, there is just something wrong; he doesn't appear trust-worthy.  It is shame but reality.  I really think the Conservative candidate that I am thinking of is a natural successor for Conservative leader.  If only he would not be so humble and talk about Manitoba instead of a platform that has little to do with Manitoba.

The only reason why I have watched Andrew Scheer so closely is because he disallowed Steven Fletcher's nomination in this election.  I thought I owed him a chance.

  1. Disallowing Steven Fletcher's nomination was a simple decision. I have known Fletcher since he first sought the federal nomination for the Canadian Alliance and, in my humble opinion, the only person who matters to Steven Fletcher is Steven Fletcher.

Even now his tactics are somewhat suspect. His signs say "re-elect" when he does not hold elected office, and the colour scheme is that of the Conservative Party of Canada. In fact, they appear to be signs left over from the 2015 campaign with the CPC symbol blanked out. I wonder why he has failed to simply put a People's Party of Canada decal over top of the CPC logo? Is he trying to mislead the electorate and hope that enough people mistake him for a CPC candidate that he just might sneak in?

Personally, I do not trust him or his motives and wonder what Elections Canada would say about his misleading signage?
