If It Really Was About a Protest.......
I have lost track of what to call the "convoy". Whatever it is, it is not about truckers protesting vaccine mandates.
First of all, if truckers really wanted to protest, they are smart enough to realize that they have real power. They could literally bring our country to the knees. We need to eat and we can't eat if there are no groceries on our shelves. All they would have to do is just stop trucking. So, if the people in charge of the trucking industry wanted to do that, they would do that.
This protest has just used the pretext of trucking vaccine mandates for an excuse to protest for their own reasons.
Even if Canada reversed their mandate, the US has the same mandate. Our mandate is merely perfunctory.
I also know there is no reasoning with those that are protesting. They are entrenched. They think they are the only ones frustrated with the restrictions that this pandemic has caused. Everyone is frustrated. It is easy to recruit supporters for this protest since everyone is so frustrated. Beyond frustrated.
It has been opportune for those who want to take advantage of the anger to advance other agendas. Other agendas that have nothing to do with the pandemic. It has not been about a protest, it has been about something else.
If it was really about pandemic restrictions, there would be no one stomping on the tomb of the unknown soldier. There would be no vehicles driving on the cenotaph. There would be no defacing the statue of Terry Fox. There wouldn't be harassment of patrons of a homeless shelter. The Rideau Centre would not be stop down. But, fundamentally, if it was really about frustration over pandemic restrictions, the crowd would be a true representation of the demographics of Canada. Because everyone is frustrated. But, it is not. The crowd is dominated by one demographic.
The one demographic that this is really about.
