Time to Marry or ReMarry - I Love to Marry

I love to marry.  I just do.  I have married so many friends.  I have married complete strangers who have become close friends.  Sometimes I marry with only a few hours notice but most often I marry with lots of time to prepare.  One summer I married my Food Services Manager.  This raised a lot of eyebrows in my company but mostly people wanted us to be happy.  Over a decade later, I am still happy with my partner and she is happily married to her husband.  Yes, I love being a Marriage Commissioner.  It is wonderful to be a part of someone's happily ever after day.  About the time that I performed my first marriage, I began to see that there was just not enough love in the world.  Being surrounded by love, even for a few hours, was something that just made me feel really good.

And, here is the thing.  We have been enduring this pandemic for 20 months or 20 years, who can keep track.  When the first few cases emerged in Manitoba, very few knew anyone who had the virus.  I knew four.  Three of the four had very mild symptoms and recovered quickly.  The fourth died, but, very quickly, and he was suffering a great deal before the virus, so, it actually was an end to his suffering. Regardless, those first few months, and when Manitoba was a role model in flattening the curve, I felt oddly smug.  I knew we were going to concur this virus.  I was confident that we were going to get through this.

Here we are in 2022.  Cases are skyrocketing like the elevator going up to the CN Tower.  Quick and unrelenting.  We are told that although case counts are unimaginable, it is ok because omicron is weak and as long as we are fully vaxxed, we will be fine, just a little inconvenienced.  Well, I have been talking to my friends who are experiencing positive cases right now, and their stories are pretty horrendous.  Definitely not something to take for granted.

I am certainly not taking my relationships for granted.  I have a lot of love in my life, but, quite frankly, you can never have enough love in your life.  If you have that in your life, hold on to it and celebrate it.  I would love to be part of this celebration.  If you love someone and want to make it "legal", I want to offer my services.  Also, if you have been married for a while and want to do it again, "just because", I want to be the cheerleader of your love.

Essentially, there just needs to be more love in 2022.  If you want to do it this weekend, or in a few months, in 2022, my services as an Officiant will be free and my gift to anyone wanting there to be more love in the air.  After all, we are all worried about what is in the air these days.  It might as well be love.
