Philpott Resigns !
I play this game called HQ. It is so much fun. Daily trivia. Playing with up to half a million people around the world. I have been playing it for almost a year. One of the annoying things about HQ is that it never starts remotely on time. The host goes on and on to try and get more people in the game. I distract myself by reading the chat. Even last summer, when Trudeau was at his height of popularity, there are negative comments about Trudeau. And, not just negative. Down right harsh. I assume they have been mostly from Western Canadians but I have no way of knowing. His father never endeared himself to Western Canada. Justin seems to be following in his father's footsteps.
Which brings me to the question, why would he waive privilege for the Hon. Jody Wilson-Raybould. How could he possibly think this was going to work out well for him? I am starting to believe about him what my father believed about his father. That he is arrogant and thinks he is so popular that it doesn't matter what he does. Where have I heard that before? It reminds me of another arrogant politician who said that he could shoot someone in public and still his base would support him.
When Hon. Jody Wilson-Raybould resigned from cabinet, I wondered about the Hon. Jane Philpott and when she would resign in solidarity with her colleague. She must have read my blog (a girl can dream!). Her letter was so classy and well thought.
This time Justin Trudeau is taking a different tactic when commenting to the press. He is taking credit for having such a free transparant government that people are free to disagree. Sure. However, he is still referring to her as "Jane". If he really respected her, he would call her the Hon. Jane Philpott.
Regardless, "Sisters are doing it for themselves. Standing on their own two feet and ringing their own bells."
Let their example inspire us all to clarify our principles and live our values.
