Trudeau spends two days in Winnipeg

Trudeau has spent the last two and a half days in Winnipeg.  If you like Trudeau, you view the trip as a triumph.  He went places no Prime Minister has gone before, he tackled some hard issues, and made a great election style visit.  If you don't like Trudeau, you were appalled by some of his mis-steps and found his visit essentially tone-deaf.  

If you like Trudeau, you find yourself in the minority today.  According to a recent poll, his popularity is at an all-time low, he is lower in popularity than Trump.  Let that sit in for a minute.  Lower popularity than Trump.  

I have become increasingly disillusioned by Trudeau.  I used to think he was about scattering seeds, now it seems to me that he is one who obtains.  First of all, the federal budget was last week.  Why is Trudeau doing a campaign style sweep of the country explaining the budget?  That should be the Finance Minister.  Why is Trudeau taking credit for everything that comes out of his government?  Is he that insecure?  It kind of  makes his look like a control freak.  It kind of gives JWR more credibility in her assertions that she was influenced by him and his minions.  When the Ontario female MP left his caucus last week, she pointed to a conversation where he yelled at her that she wasn't grateful enough to him for "all he did for her."  I read between the lines, he didn't want his MPs to flourish, he wanted them to be able to take credit for them.  His whole "feminist in chief" thing was something for him to tour and not really about balance in cabinet.  

He lost me several months ago when he made a surprise appearance on a telethon for Africa hosted by Trevor Noah.  Trudeau donated a large sum of money on behalf of the people of Canada.  I didn't mind that Canada was donating to a great cause, I just didn't think our aid should be trivialized in a telethon that has obvious operating costs that need to be paid through donations.  It also seemed like Trudeau was being a little bit of a fame whore.  It wasn't his money, it was our money.  Why should he be donating it on a telethon.  

It is not that difficult.  If you are the type of person who scatters seeds, you never know what grows and when and where.  If you are the type of person who obtains, you never have the opportunity to see what grows and where and when.  Be patient.  Be one who scatters.  It leads to abundance.  Or, atleast higher poll numbers than Trump.

I felt compelled to attend an information meeting of the Bruce Oake Recovery Centre.  Compelled because it will be, not in my neighbourhood, but in my City Ward.  Compelled after reading Bruce's story and his family's wish to make this recovery centre his legacy.  Compelled because of the opposition to this centre.  I wanted my voice to be a positive one. There's Something from Jenny - Part 2

I am trying to evolve as a blogger.  One of my friends told me that I needed to start adding my pictures to my blog so that people would know who they are communicating with.  So, good, bad, or ugly, I am adding my picture as much as I can.  It makes me feel vulnerable.  Not as vulnerable as I would feel if I was running for Mayor of a major Canadian city. Seriously? Opposition to BORC opening at old Vimy Arena Site

I decided to go for a walk today.  It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon.  My quest was to understand the home owner's opposition to having the closed arena site being converted to a much needed addiction treatment facility.  I took some pictures on my phone and want to explain what I found out.  The first picture was taken while I was standing on the immense green space at the back of the old Vimy Arena.  You can see in the background what is the closest residential development.  It is a town house complex.  In order for someone who was participating in treatment at BORC to interact with someone living in the complex, they would have to walk and then cross a creek, and then get through the trees.  I would think the residents living in that complex would be more worried about the drainage pipe that leads on the creek.  I would be concerned about a wandering child being trapped in there.  The second pic...
