And now....Matt Lauer

Another day, another previously respected man accused.   Obviously a strong accusation and apparently detailed and resulted in Lauer being fired. 

It is hard to even know we are supposed to feel.  I feel conflicted.  Can you respect a man yet detest what he must have done.  Of course, we feel for the victim, yet, I also feel for his family.   I still want to believe that sexual misconduct is not as prevalent as it obviously is.  I am also starting to question why we have so many accusers and no one is pursuing criminal charges.   Everything seems to be getting more and more complicated. 

I am shaken by the news.  I am also saddened that the first I heard of this was a tweet of the former reality star currently occupying 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.   Trump was celebrating that Lauer was fired, not because of the accusation, but because Trump saw this as a victory because Lauer was spreading "fake news". 

I guess he will never get this thing called sexual harassment. 

I can't even bother remember how long it was, but, when he was candidate Trump, the ET tape came to light.  Trump acknowledged it and apologized and claimed that he was going to "be a better man".  Now, he is denying the tape is accurate and he also has 12 women accusing him of sexual harassment. 

Trump, maybe on this issue, you might want to sit this one out. 

Yesterday, a woman likely employed by a right wing group tried to sting The Washington Post by providing a false allegation.  It failed.   Trying to bring down free speech, one of our most valued right.   This is something you should be commenting on and condemning. 

The White House also released a video yesterday of the Christmas decorations.   Trump did promise to bring the Christ back into Christmas, and he has.   However, honestly, the decorations are magically beautiful.   The video also features Melania in various coats (I guess it is cold in the White House) consulting with many people and it appears it is her vision that is being created.   I don't know how much she actually did toward the cause, but, at minimum, she changed her outfit 5 times. 

Trump, why can't you say something positive.  Your own wife did something.  Be loud and proud of her. 

Just sit out the allegations of misconduct.   Don't worry.  Contrary to what you think, we don't depend on your twitter account as our only source of news.

I felt compelled to attend an information meeting of the Bruce Oake Recovery Centre.  Compelled because it will be, not in my neighbourhood, but in my City Ward.  Compelled after reading Bruce's story and his family's wish to make this recovery centre his legacy.  Compelled because of the opposition to this centre.  I wanted my voice to be a positive one. There's Something from Jenny - Part 2

I am trying to evolve as a blogger.  One of my friends told me that I needed to start adding my pictures to my blog so that people would know who they are communicating with.  So, good, bad, or ugly, I am adding my picture as much as I can.  It makes me feel vulnerable.  Not as vulnerable as I would feel if I was running for Mayor of a major Canadian city. I can't imagine how vulnerable I would feel, having every move and every word analyzed and taken out of context.  Perspective always defines your reality.  For example, I could tell you that I witnessed a murder by the Superstore last week.  That might bring up some powerful images in your mind.  Then, there would be those who know that a group of crows is called a murder.  That gives my previous statement have a whole different image in your mind.  So, when I spent an hour with Jenny Motkaluk that was my biggest impression.  She doesn't mind being vulnerable.  She just w...

Seriously? Opposition to BORC opening at old Vimy Arena Site

I decided to go for a walk today.  It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon.  My quest was to understand the home owner's opposition to having the closed arena site being converted to a much needed addiction treatment facility.  I took some pictures on my phone and want to explain what I found out.  The first picture was taken while I was standing on the immense green space at the back of the old Vimy Arena.  You can see in the background what is the closest residential development.  It is a town house complex.  In order for someone who was participating in treatment at BORC to interact with someone living in the complex, they would have to walk and then cross a creek, and then get through the trees.  I would think the residents living in that complex would be more worried about the drainage pipe that leads on the creek.  I would be concerned about a wandering child being trapped in there.  The second pic...
