National Security Concerns

In the context of trying to renegotiate NAFTA, the President announced huge tariffs on aluminum and steel against Canada citing national security concerns.

Really.

Remember, Canada.  Your biggest ally.  Your neighbor.  The country that you have the longest undefended  border in the world.  The country that fought with you and died with you in WW1, WW2, and Afghanistan.

Remember, Canada.  Everyone loves Canada throughout the world and we enjoy the highest standard of living.  Everyone wants to be Canada.  The country with the social safety net.  The country that would rather take care of our veterans that build our arsenal.  Canada, the country that wants to take care of families by moving to an 18 month maternity leave.

Remember, Canada.  That is the country that Americans claim they are from when they travel internationally so they are treated better.

Remember, Canada.  The country that is best known for apologizing for everything.

Our Prime Minister chose his words carefully as he announced tariffs dollar for dollar.  He said it defies common sense.

Our Foreign Affairs Minister has issued her harshest words ever on the subject.  She described the tariffs as being absurd.  Whoa.  Settle down, Min. Freeland.  Those are pretty harsh words.

I can see how we are a national security concern.

Also, today, the FLOTUS issued a statement condemning attacks on her family and called it bullying.  This was directed at Samantha Bee for her comments on Ivanka Trump.  She definitely has a point, however, people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones, or in this case, tweets.  Why don't you address some of your husband's horrendous attacks on other people's character.  Then you might have some moral high ground to advance your anti-cyberbulling agenda.

Thank you so much for reading.  I am sorry if this is a little harsh.  I am sorry this all happened.   Even though I had nothing to do with any of it, I would like to sincerely apologize on behalf of all of us for any offence any one has ever committed.

As the beer commercials say, I AM CANADIAN !!
