Ontarioooooo Electionnnnnnn

The Ontario election campaign has gone on for far too long.  You know it has gone on for too long when the media is counting down the hours until it is done.  Two more days.  The election is this Thursday.

Buh bye to Kathleen Wynne.  She is right.  She is just not likeable.  She wishes people would like her more, but we don't.  We can't put our finger on it but she is just not likeable.  There's that and then there is the horrible job she has done in government.  But, we could look beyond that, but, she is just not likeable.

Andrea Horwath is looking stronger with every day of the campaign.  Starting off dead last in the polls, she has surged and may form a minority government.  As sick as we are all of this never-ending campaign, if it was going to last another week, she would probably form the majority government.

Then, there is Doug Ford.  Ford Nation.  It is hard to understand the Ford Nation but it does exist.  It started with Rob Ford.  Rob Ford didn't put Toronto on the map, but certainly put it on the radar of late night comics.  Throughout it all, all of the antics, Doug Ford stood behind his brother.  He remained loyal to his brother. and was the spokesman of the Ford family.  I am not a fan of either of them, but I admired Doug's loyalty to his brother, Rob.

Like many, I was shocked when Doug won the Provincial Conservatives.  The best thing about his campaign  is that he has listened to his handlers.  His instinct was to be a Donald Trump clone but he has listened to his advisers and has been close to reasonable.

Then, there was yesterday.  Rob Ford's wife is suing him for $16.5 Million.  Two days before the election campaign.  This will prove devastating to his campaign.  I'm not saying that is a bad thing, however, I feel for him with this circumstance.  First of all, now the Ontario voters know that he has $16.5 Million which does not make him relatable to his Ford Nation voters.

But, Renata Ford is showing the same class that her husband showed throughout his life.  First of all, when you marry Rob Ford, you have to know what you are in for.  A life-time of heart-ache and embarrassment.  Your husband wasn't showing you any love when he was using drugs in a strip club, etc.

The one person that did have your back was Doug Ford.  He served as family spokesperson and stood behind your family.  He also pledged to take care of you and your family.  Given that her spending habits may be similar to that of her husband's, I think it makes financial sense to have some sort of a trust for her and her children in order to ensure that they all have a future.

Either way, today is Tuesday.  It will be over Thursday night.  Thank goodness, I will be watching the Washington Capitals win the Stanley Cup rather than the results.
