WTF Wheeler?

I don't have a rich social life right now, but when I did, I liked to have a few cocktails. There was always at least one person who would choose not to partake in having an alcoholic drink.  I have learned that each person who was abstaining from alcohol had a reason for doing so, and that reason was none of my bloody business.

I am just saying that people should have the right to live their lives as they please as long as they don't violate any laws or public health directives.  Beyond that, it is none of our business.

So, I don't understand Dave Wheeler.  I will be honest.  A few years ago, my only reference for him was Moose and Jets games until he was fired for politically incorrect comments he made on his morning radio show.  I wish we could stop talking about politically correct and politically incorrect.  To me, that brings us back to the 90s.  We should only be talking about correct and incorrect comments.  As a society, we should not put up with "politically incorrect" comments by giving a pass to grumpy old men, etc.  If something said is wrong, we should stand up against it. Rogers Communications did that when they fired him.

And now, a few years later, he has been hired again to do a morning show.  To do so, they had to fire a female host of the same morning show.  I confess I never listened to this radio show prior to his hiring and I have no plans to listen to it now.  It seems clear to me that this radio station was losing money in advertising during the pandemic (as most media outlets have been) so they decided to shake things up with a "provocative" host.  They certainly have garnered a lot of attention but that doesn't translate to advertisers.  We have seen a whole new level of ethics across the board during the pandemic.  People and businesses seem to have a higher level of ethical conduct.  Also, Dave Wheeler is not "provocative", he is simply an idiot.

Even after he was fired, he as continued to make transphobic comments on social media.  I don't know why the trans community triggers his anger so much.  It is really none of his bloody business and I can't see how any transgender persona affects him in any way.  Other than, he likes to troll in hate.

Another sad day in Winnipeg, but, I know he is not going to last and will be fired again.
