I Take Willy Dogs Food For Granted

Actual picture of me after eating Willy Dogs.  Face needs to be disguised due to being covered with bbq sauce.

Let's face it.  I love Willy Dogs.  I have loved it since it was established in 2018.  Some would say I have been stalking Willy Dogs since 2018.  If you ask me why I love Willy Dogs, I will tell you twenty different things.  Actually, I was recommending Willy Dogs to a friend last week when he told me that I forgot to mention the food.  I realize I have been taking the food for granted.  It is time to talk about the food.

The burgers are amazing.  Nothing like what you would get in a chain restaurant.  Actual home made hamburger patties, each one unique but all delicious.  My husband loves the chicken burger. I wish I could say I have tried it but he has never given me a bite.  I would like to try it but it is a hard enough decision for me deciding between the regular Soko Burger, the Super Soko Burger, of the Kolbassa Smokie that I just can't add another choice to the mix.

Ah, the Soko Burger.  A meal in itself.  Too much for one person yet I can inhale it in under 30 seconds.  I don't know what it is but that burger is magic.  Last week, I saw a photo of someone eating the Super Soko Burger while dining in the Deer Lodge Curling Club.  I can't tell you how much I admire this individual's bravery.  I could never eat a Soko Burger in public.  There is so much to it that I often it separated in many layers with a knife and fork.  Yeah, I gotta eat that thing in the privacy of my own home.

Personally, I think the fried onions contributes to the magic.  How I am able to get perfectly fried onions just exactly the way I want them every single time in amazing.  I have been tempted to order a side order of fried onions many times because they are so good but the reality is that all the portions are large so I get more than enough fried onions on my burger or smokie.

Thursday night is our night to order in Willy Dogs.  We pretend that we are ordering for a family of 4 but it is just the two of us.  We order too much but can't help it.  I can't pass up the fries and gravy.  My hubbie raves about the onion rings.  The gravy is wonderful.  While chain restaurants are struggling to provide gravy due to supply chain issues, this gravy is always available and with all the goodness of home-made.  We go through the same ritual every time we order.  We say this is too much food and we will have left-overs for sure for lunch and maybe even for dinner tomorrow, Sometimes we laugh after we say that but usually our mouths are full and we can't laugh.  There are never left-overs.  My husband has to unbutton his pants afterwards.  I am more of a pro than he is as I know to change into my pyjamas before eating.

Like I said, I always debate between the Soko Burger and the Kolbassa Smokie.  The Soko Burger is fabulous and a portion of every one sold goes to a fabulous charity.  But, I am Ukrainian and this Kolbassa Smokie is simply the best and I am one of the experts when it comes to kolbassa.  Basically, I can taste the quality, or lack there of, in a kolbassa.  This one is of the highest quality.  And, Willy is the BBQ king.  Do you know how hard it is to grill a kolbassa and still have it be really juicy.  Well, it is something that I have never been able to accomplish.  It is amazing.

Recently, I tried the honey garlic wings.  Well, I have tried his wings before but not the honey garlic flavour.  The reason is that honey garlic is my favourite but I was scared to try it at Willy Dogs.  You see, I had stopped ordering honey garlic wings at restaurants.  No one could make them the way I like it.  I like more garlic than honey and while I expect to have sauce on my face, I like to be able to find the chicken in the sauce.  Well, I don't know why I was afraid.  It's Wily Dogs, after all, the honey garlic wings were perfect.  The right balance or sweet and garlic and perfectly sauced.

Yeah, I have been taking Willy's food for granted and haven't expressed how much I appreciate it.  Life is too short to take any relationship for granted.  Including your relationship with your comfort food.

Peace Out.
