Remembering John Lennon

Tonight I will be lighting a candle in the memory of John Lennon.  I won't be actually lighting a candle but I will cherishing his memory on the 41st anniversary of him leaving the Earth too soon.

There is nothing about the Beatles that I don't like.  I will always admire their artistry and being the poets of a generation.  No, I don't know the whole story about why they broke up and I never will.  But, they sure were talented.  I also admire his solo career post Beatles.  Some of his best work but doesn't detract anything from his earlier work.

Although, I am a huge fan, I am aware that John was a deeply flawed human being.  I am also a deeply flawed human.  I can tell you that it is much easier and interesting to live a deeply flawed life rather than living a perfect life.  Deeply flawed people can be creative, talented, intelligent, perceptive, empathetic, kind and loving.  They are still worthy of our adoration.

It was 41 years ago.  Rest in peace.  I miss the music that was still within you.  Thank you for giving me the courage to imagine.
