9 times a day

One of the major news organizations released data yesterday.  Apparently, either orally or on social media, Donald Trump lies 9 times every day.  I am presuming that being President is a big job so as most of us mere mortals work 8 hours a day, I will suggest he works 9 hours a day.  So, that means on average of 1 lie/hour.

Again, I love bashing Trump as much as anyone, but even I am getting tired that he gives us so much material to work with.  But, as this point, I think Trump analysis is best suited for Saturday Night Live or late night talk shows.

Can you imagine having a job where you have to go through everything this clown says or tweets and track the lies?  Talk about drawing the short straw.  The problem with tracking Trump's lies is you have to read or listen to everything he says.  How can you have any job satisfaction or even self-respect?

Plus, it doesn't really serve us any purpose.  Most of us know he is liar.  Some of us don't believe it and they are never going to believe it.

Regardless, how does this information help anyone?  It doesn't change anyone's position on Trump.  It probably pisses off Trump and may lead to more lies.  There is no "win" to knowing this information.

At some point, we have to get over the election and accept that he is The President.  We don't have to like it, but, this is where we are right now.   There is actually someone out there who is more dangerous and that is the comic figure who is tyrannizing North Korea.

I am sure it is as much luck as skill, but Trump is having some success in relations with this "leader".  That is a win for all of us.  North Korea says it will start dismantling nuclear sites.  This is huge news and let's hope it is true.  For whatever reason, this is happening.   I don't think there is any up side with counting Trump's lies at this point.

I will admit that when Trump announced the release of hostages, my first thought was "good for Melania and Baron" but it was American hostages that have been in North Korea.  From what I understand of International Relations, there is no way that this could have happened without some involvement of the President.

I think we need to back off a little and let Trump do his job.   There is an old saying about poking a bear and I think that is applicable here.  He is the President.  I choke a little even typing it, but there is nothing that can be done about that....now.

Let's not spend out energy counting his lies.  We know they exist.  Whether it is twice a day, 9 times a day, or 100 times a day, that information is not helping anyone.

Let's focus our energy on united people, listening and understanding, and moving forward together.  The election is not really that far away.  Let's put our energy into this fight.
